Defog It Antifog Seeks Additional Workplace Sites For Safety Field Tests On Fogging Of Personal Protective Eyewear

Valley View, OH (Vocus) -- Within 24 hours after the announcement of the Nanofilm Defog It antifog field test, the Nanofilm's phones were ringing with calls from organizations eager to participate in the research. "The response shows professionals are looking for solutions to the hazard of fogged safety eyewear in utilities, pulp and paper, construction, law enforcement and military workplaces," says John Swett, Vice President of Sales and Marketing There is no cost to the participate in the test.

The 12-day program provides antifog products for company use and includes a 10-question survey about fogging as a factor in workers' failure to wear safety eyewear and fogged eyewear as a workplace hazard. Defog It will tailor the testing program to the specific needs of the participating organizations. Eligible organizations include utilities, paper mills, steel manufacturers, construction companies and military units.

"Professionals across industries tell us that a fogging problem is a given on safety glasses, goggles and faceshields, but there are few statistics, standards or solutions. These field studies will provide information to help workers see safe, be safe," adds Swett.

In a study published in Accident Analysis & Prevention Magazine1 in 2009, research with focus groups made up of manufacturing, construction, service, medical and retail workers showed that fogging is the Number One vision-related reason for not wearing protective eyewear in the workplace. An anti-fogging solution is named as one of the Top Five ways to increase eyewear usage, named by nearly 60% of groups.

Organizations interested in participating in the research should contact John Swett at 1-888-ENDS-FOG. More information is available at the www.defogitworks.com.
