Secutech Vietnam Receives Positive Comments From Exhibitors And Visitors

Fringe programmes attract large audiences

A record number of exhibitors attended Secutech Vietnam, Vietnam's largest trade fair for security, fire and safety which took place from 25 – 27 August 2010 at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City. The show was organised by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd, a leading integrated media company dedicated to the security industry, organising Secutech trade fairs as well as publishing 12 A&S magazines and operating several websites.

Global brand names such as Sony and Panasonic were among the exhibitors displaying their latest products and technologies in 200 booths. The third edition of the three-day show attracted 120 exhibitors, an increase of 12 per cent compared to 2009. The exhibitors came from 13 countries and regions.

Secutech Vietnam also attracted 3,838 visitors from 15 countries and regions including Australia, China, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Malaysia, Philippine, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, Taiwan, USA and Vietnam.

Sony Electronics Asia Pacific exhibits at Secutech Vietnam every year with its surveillance products and solutions such as security industry, analogue CCTV cameras and IP-analogue hybrid video recorders and software. The company was impressed by the show's professionalism. "I am happy that this show offers us an organised networking and trading platform," commented Mr Yoshikazu Hirano, the company's General Manager, Security Solutions.

Making a first show appearance was HDPRO Co Ltd from Korea, a global manufacturer of digital image security system solution. Mr Michael Kim, Overseas Sales and Marketing Director said: "We've received a lot of enquiries about our low-light camera during the show and we've also met quality and professional distributors and installers."

Vietnamese company Techpro used Secutech Vietnam to promote and build a reliable brand image. "It is a professional security trade fair where we can do business and keep updated with new technologies and market information," said Mr Do Duc Hao, President and CEO. "The buyers I've met are high-level integrators and users and their enquiries are genuine."

A positive comment also came from Swedish company Axis Communication, the world's leading innovative network video product manufacturer. "This year the visitor flow was higher and we got more buyers visiting our booth," explained Mr Oh Tee Lee, the company's Regional Director, South Asia Pacific. "Vietnam's economic and social developments are growing rapidly and it will become one of Asia's strongest countries. This is the reason we exhibit at Secutech Vietnam every year."

Representing Silver Sea JSC, one of Vietnam's largest security systems suppliers, Mr Tran Trong Vinh, company president and President of the Asian Professional Security Association (Vietnam Chapter) commented: "Secutech Vietnam is an excellent marketing platform and so we exhibit at the show every year. I visited Secutech in Taipei 10 years ago and at that time I found Vietnam a promising market for the security industry as well. Therefore, I set up a company here."

Visitors were equally enthusiastic about Secutech Vietnam and the market. TTL Safety & Security Equipment Co Ltd is a well-known fire safety product distributor providing fire protection engineering expertise. "The Vietnamese security industry is becoming more mature and better," said Mr Joseph Ho, Manager. "I never would have thought that there could be a quality security show in Vietnam like this one."

First time visitor Mr Tran Buu Long, Site Manager for Thanh Yen said: "As I am in charge of building project management, I am looking for security solutions with a competitive price and good quality. Secutech Vietnam is a place where I can source these products."

Fringe programmes attract large audiences
A total of 650 people took the opportunity to attend 15 seminars organised under four themed conferences: the GDSF Vietnam; Intelligent Building Automation & Total solution Seminar; Subway / MRT Security System Installation Seminar and the Fire & Safety Seminar.

The highly respected industry event Global Digital Surveillance Forum Vietnam (GDSF) was supported by many prominent industry speakers who explored the latest topics and shared their experiences. Mr Ajit Aras, General Manager, Marketing for Sharp Electronics introduced the topic of Turnkey CCTV Solution for Emerging Markets. He commented: "There was a good interaction and I've received positive feedback from the audience. Many of them visited our booth after the seminar."

Mr Thai Ha Hoa, Expert of Technology-Quality-Process Control, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Urban Railways attended the Subway / MRT Security System Management Forum and the Fire & Safety Forum. He commented: "These seminars were practical and can help raise Vietnam's security and fire safety awareness and speed up the development of the security industry. I am happy that the show is bringing in the world's leading products to Vietnam and sharing case histories with us."
