Popular Bacou-Dalloz Hearing Conservation Seminar Coming To San Antonio
Smithfield, RI - The Bacou-Dalloz Hearing Safety Group will conduct a free hearing conservation seminar in San Antonio, TX, on Friday, March 9, 2007. Entitled, "What You Need To Hear: Best Practices In Hearing Conservation," the seminar, led by industry expert Brad Witt, MA, CCC-A, combines audio and visual demonstrations to convey hearing conservation principles in an engaging and practical way. The seminar will be held at the Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio, and is open to hearing conservation program managers, safety managers, industrial hygienists and like professionals.
Witt, who is Audiology and Regulatory Affairs Manager for the Bacou-Dalloz Hearing Safety Group, has earned high praise for his lively and informative presentation style, and has previously taken his hearing conservation seminar on the road to a number of locations in the US, as well as the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. The registration form for the free seminar can be downloaded at: http://http://www.hearingportal.com/hearingconservation/hc-dwn-ame.asp
The seminar lasts three hours and includes everything safety practitioners need to know about implementing an effective and compliant hearing conservation program. Topics include: the basics of hearing conservation; effects of noise-induced hearing loss; US OSHA regulations; implementing an effective HC program; tips on selecting and fitting hearing protectors; and most important of all, training and motivating workers to wear them.
The motivational portion of the seminar focuses on techniques to encourage employees to wear their hearing protection: showing workers they are vulnerable; demonstrating the future risks of not wearing hearing protection; and removing the barriers to wearing protectors, including unavailability, discomfort, or a sense of alienation from being overprotected. All attendees will receive posters, flyers, product samples and other motivational tools for use in their own hearing conservation programs.
A frequent writer, as well as a speaker on the subject of hearing conservation, Brad Witt has been an Industrial Audiologist for more than 23 years. He has degrees from Brigham Young and Northwestern Universities, and has practiced throughout the United States and Middle East. For 14 years he managed Pacific Audiologics, providing hearing conservation services at 175 locations in the western United States. He is also a past president of the National Hearing Conservation Association (USA) and has been with the Bacou-Dalloz Hearing Safety Group since 2004. Witt was recently awarded with "Outstanding Lecture" award by the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA).
