Description: Hearing Conservation training is required in the occupational noise exposure standard (29 CFR 1910.95). This training is required annually for all individuals exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time-weight average of 85 decibels. It is intended for all individuals that work in noisy environments or with noisy equipment. This training module presents an overview of harmful environments or practices that can lead to occupational hearing loss. Individuals will review the characteristics of sound as they relate to hearing damage, types of hearing loss, warning signs of potential hearing loss, hearing loss control measures and protective hearing equipment.
