Cleaning, Storage and Testing Accessories

A line of cleaning, storage, and testing accessories are available for respirator users. Among the products included in this line are wall cases and storage bags, wipes, cleaning kits, and respirator fit test kits. Most models are made of corrosion-resistant ABS with ultraviolet inhibitors. They offer non-metal hinges and latches that prevent rust and rubber door seals protect equipment from dust and moisture. A heavy-duty metal case is also available. Appropriately colored red for extinguishers or yellow for respirators, the cases come in a variety of sizes.

Respirator cleaning pads are individually packaged towlettes containing 70% Isopropanol and are designed for use on rubber respirator facepieces and other personal safety equipment. Alcohol-free pads are available. The towelettes contain Benzalkonium Chloride and will not harm rubber facepieces. They are available in large 8 in. x 11 in. towelettes called Big Ones and in bulk pack dispensers called The Bucket. For full facepiece and half mask respirators, the Respirator Cleaning Kit includes ½-oz. packets of water-soluble cleaner, an air bulb, a large two-sided bucket, and brush. The kit meets OSHA standards for respirator cleaning.

Wipe Downs and Wipe Ups are pre-moistened disinfectant towelettes in pop-up canisters. Wipe Downs for equipment contain Benzalkonium Chloride to clean respirators or other personal safety equipment. Wipe Ups for hands are anti-microbial hand wipes for the cleaning of hands in the food service or industrial environments.

The Respirator Fit Test Tent creates a concentrated area for qualitative fit testing using the Smoke Fit Test Kit. Made of nylon reinforced vinyl material, it includes a hanging strap, viewing window and two openings for input and exhaust of smoke. The kit includes all the material needed to perform OSHA-accepted qualitative fit tests for air purifying respirators.

The Deluxe Banana Oil Kit ca perform qualitative respirator fit testing. When activated, the ampules give off an non-irritating odor of banana oil (Iso Amyl Acetate). If the respirator wearer can smell the oil, the respirator should be adjusted or replaced. The kit includes all the equipment necessary to perform the test.

The Flow Test Kit includes a meter that measures the volume of air that actually gets to the respirator in CFM (cubic feet/minute). The Flow Meter quick connects into the airline hose to check the respirator system for NIOSH Compliant air flow. The kit contains a flow meter and quick connect plugs and adapters to fit all respirator manufacturer's airline hoses.

Disposable Hoods fit most APR and SAR half or full mask respirators. They are available in either polypropylene or Tyvek and will protect respirator skirts from harsh elements, which minimizes maintenance and extends the life of all masks, including disposable and limited use respirators. Spray Socks offer protection from overspray and other particulates and are available in a dispenser or in bulk.
