MN8 Foxfire Brings Photoluminescent Emergency Exit Systems To South Florida

The FIU Arena, Beachwalk Hotel Condominium, Mardi Gras Casino and Others, Enlist Foxfire to Provide its Patrons with Safe Evacuation During an Emergency

Miami, FL (PRWEB) - MN8-Foxfire, UL-certified developer of photoluminescent safety products, today announced its expansion into South Florida, where the company has installed its photoluminescent egress system in the Florida International University (FIU) Arena, Beachwalk Hotel Condominium, Mardi Gras Casino and Barry University, to improve building evacuations and increase safety.

MN8 Foxfire’s photoluminescent safety and egress system illuminates zero-light, smoke-filled environments to decrease disorientation and improve visibility, reducing serious injury and death. Both energy-efficient and cost-effective, Foxfire’s photoluminescent coatings brighten in total darkness for many hours after charging in any light source for seconds. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, photoluminescent exit signs are the most energy efficient exit signs available.

“Maintaining battery-powered lighting and egress systems is time-consuming and an extra expense,” said Mike Deluca, slot director at Mardi Gras Casino. “Add the costs of labor and replacing batteries and bulbs, and it just keep piling up. Photoluminescent exit signage emits light for hours and there is no need to test or replace batteries and bulbs or for ongoing inspections. And now when we have concerts, we can rest easy shutting off the lights, as concert goers can easily see the steps and can safely get in and out with Foxfire’s illuminating stair markings.”

In addition, the 2010 Florida Building Code has a new requirement that, similar to other high-rise buildings, now residential occupancies containing sleeping units (where occupants are transient in nature), like hotels and motels over 75 feet in height, must have approved luminous egress path markings delineating the exit path.

“The 2010 Florida Building Code mandates new photoluminescent requirements for emergency exit paths, new practices for both developers and building departments,” said John Deutschmann, construction manager at The Related Group. “The Foxfire team was amazing in their response, in providing their expertise in the application of the code, and most importantly in delivering product to meet the needs of the Beachwalk Hotel Condominium project. Moreover, we are able to incorporate this experience into our current development plans in the South Florida area with a sense of comfort knowing that Foxfire is a valuable resource and partner.”

“With hurricane season just a month away, and back-up generators failing 20% to 30% of the time when the power goes out, photoluminescent solutions can provide reliable life-saving exit guidance in any condition,” said Zachary Green, CEO of MN8 Foxfire. “From illuminating the Miss Universe Pageant at the FIU Arena to the stairwells of the 33-story Beachwalk Resort, we are eager to equip the hotels, sports arenas, universities, and other buildings of South Florida with fail-safe photoluminescent safety signage and markings to keep people safe.”

Zach Green, CEO of MN8 Foxfire, will be in South Florida May 6-8. Please contact the Foxfire team at pr(at)mn8foxfire(dot)com to schedule an in-person meeting.
