New Products And Resources On Laser Equipment Safety Labels Released By Clarion Safety Systems

Clarion Safety Systems releases new laser safety label products and online resources related to the latest standards.

MILFORD, PA (PRWEB) - Clarion Safety Systems, a leading designer and manufacturer of safety signs and safety labels, has released new products and resources regarding safety labels for laser hazards.

There are two main standards to follow when it comes to compliance for laser labeling: the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) for U.S. markets and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for international markets.

Clarion’s laser label product line includes designs that comply with both standards. Customers can choose from standard and customized designs developed in line with requirements from CDRH’s Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Title 21, Subchapter J, Part 1040, Section 1040.10 Laser products and with IEC 60825-1 Safety of laser products – Part 1: Equipment classification, requirements and user's guide.

“When it comes to labels on laser products, manufacturers face a dilemma in complying with U.S. regulations or meeting internationally-accepted standards,” says Geoffrey Peckham, CEO of Clarion Safety Systems. “Yet the 2014 edition of IEC 60825-1 presents engineers with a new symbol-based format that better conveys laser safety information across language barriers and uses ANSI Z535-style color-coded severity level panels to denote varying levels of risk.”

This new IEC label format – which Clarion has developed as part of its product line – is part of the growing trend now occurring in the field of on-product safety labeling; industries are shifting to a greater reliance on symbols to communicate and draw attention to safety messages. The increased use of symbols, when combined with precise use of severity level panels to define risk, and clear, concise text messages, represents the new era in safety signs and labels.

“We’re pleased to be able to offer our customers a range of CDRH and IEC-compliant labels to choose from, as well as online resources that help to provide an understanding of the key standards and simplifies the process of finding the laser labels needed to meet their requirements.”

In addition to its updated product line, Clarion has new resources available on its website including a new section in its Resource Center, which contains the latest information on standards and best practices in the field of safety communication. The resources include an updated safety label learning center page to help promote a better understanding of the CDRH and IEC requirements for laser labels.

Clarion’s laser labels are available in their website’s online catalog, as well as with customization options for CDRH labels and IEC labels. The company also offers kits – where they produce all the labels a customer needs for a specific product or project to arrive as one complete kit – simplifying ordering and inventory management.
