Tinley Park, IL - Panduit Corp. announces the introduction of a new lockout device that is designed for a wide range of straight blade or twistlock, 2 or 3 pole plugs/connectors. The Panduit PSL-P Plug Lockout prevents the insertion of an electrical plug into an outlet in compliance with OSHA standard 29CFR1910.147.

Small and easily transported in an electrician's pouch, the PSL-P Plug Lockout requires a hole in the blade of the plug and is attached with a lock containing a 2-inch shackle that is also available from Panduit. To install, the user simply places the lockout device through the hole in the blade of the plug, inserts the padlock through both holes in the lockout, and locks the padlock.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has mandated that all energy sources by turned off and locked out to protect employees from injuries caused by the accidental startup of equipment under repair or service. The Panduit Plug Lockout is designed to facilitate compliance by providing a single, yet effective approach to prevent energizing equipment inadvertently. The PSL-P Plug Lockout is part of a growing line of safety and identification products made available nationwide through authorized Panduit Distributors.
