SAFEGUARD Pultruded Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composite Safety Covers
SAFEGUARD Pultruded Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composite Safety Covers

  • Significantly higher glass content than hand lay-up or compression molded products. Makes a much stronger part with less deflection.
  • The pultrusion process eliminates voids and improves quality.
  • The SAFEGUARD Covers are reinforced by a core of densely packed, continuous glass fibers wrapped by a continuous glass mat, plus a synthetic surfacing veil.

The core of continuous glass fibers gives longitudinal strength and stiffness.

The continuous glass mat gives them strength in the transverse direction to protect them from chipping, cracking and lineal fracturing.

The synthetic surfacing veil encapsulates the product in a 100% resin surface, which provides excellent corrosion resistance and protection from UV exposure.

Features:

  • Lightweight - Weighs 80% less than the same volume of steel, 30% less than aluminum.
  • High Strength - Stronger than structural steel on a pound for pound basis.
  • Corrosion Resistant - Will not rot, and impervious to a broad range of corrosive environments; suitable for indoor or outdoor use.
  • Non-Conductive - An excellent insulator; has low thermal conductivity and is electrically non-conductive.
  • Slip Prevention - The unique surface of SAFEGUARD Covers greatly exceeds both OSHA and ADA guidelines for coefficient of friction values.
  • Non-Trip Hazard - The pultruded FRP allows the overall average thickness of these Covers to be less than 0.25" (6mm), so that they do not introduce a trip hazard.
  • ISO-9001 Certification - The facility in which the SAFEGUARD Covers are pultruded is ISO-9001 certified.
