Earmark Inc.adio headset, a part of the company's Series 4 product group, offers a "value engineered" approach to radio headset communications. It has a 15% weight reduction compared to the standard Series 4 headset. This unit is offered in simplex operating mode and provides precise features required for high noise applications that do not need hands-free operations. The unit features simple controls and a permanently fasted fastened, rotary on/off/volume control with detents that allow the user to set the radio for the specific environmental condition. A soft touch, tactile PTT button is included for positive notification when transmitting. The close mounted, Nickel-Titanium alloy antennas are incorporated to minimize weight and resist permanent deformation when bent.

This headset offers thick walls for protection in abusive environments and an armored, flexible boom that shields the microphone cable for the noise canceling electret microphone. It is powered by a single, disposable 9-volt alkaline battery or by a single, rechargeable 8.4-volt NiMH cell, and can transmit 100-mW of radio power reaching up to ½ mile in open field conditions.
