OSHA regulation 1910.134 (re-issued Jan. 8, 1998) requires annual fit testing for all employees using respirators with tight-fitting face pieces (either negative or positive pressure). Industrial Health provides on-site respirator fit testing using Portacount quantitative fit testing instruments.
Fit test procedures which comply with applicable OSHA requirements will be followed, and test results will be documented with printed test records and a summary report listing all employees tested and their approvals/results. Employees who pass are given documentation of approval at the time of their testing.
