Rope Grabs provide a user friendly, reliable and safe method of working at elevations where suspension from rope cables (droplines) is recommended.

Working at elevations on scaffolding, towers, antennas and derricks, and while performing bridge construction, window cleaning, painting, steel erection and general maintenance are only a few of the uses for the Rope Grab
The Rope Grab can be removed and attached at any point on the 5/8" (16mm) or 3/4" (20mm) approved three strand synthetic polysteel dropline, and will travel automatically up and down the dropline as the worker carries out his/her tasks. The totally hands free operation of the Rope Grab permits the worker freedom of movement for climbing or descending structures. Should a fall occur, the 2806 will lock onto the dropline and arrest the fall.

The use of an approved lanyard properly connected between the Rope Grab and the back D-ring of your fall arrest harness (or body belt) offers an extension of movement that is needed for certain applications. Hy-Safe's Rope Grab (work positioning) provides hands free lateral movement.

Hy-Safe recommends the use of a Soft Pak shock absorbing lanyard (SAL) as replacement for standard lanyards 2 feet or longer. The SAL drastically reduces the arrest forces generated in a fall. The use of a longer lanyard for work positioning may be used if the potential free fall distance is less than 6 feet.

Rope Grabs are only part of a complete fall protection program.

All Hy-Safe Rope Grabs are available complete with web lanyards (with or without approved shock absorbers) permanently attached for added fall protection.

Hy-Safe Rope Grabs are not intended for horizontal use or at angles of more than 60° from the vertical.
