The model A FallGuard skylight screen was developed in response to OSHA Regulation 29CFR 910.23 (e)(8) NIOSH Alert 90-100. The screens are designed to prevent falls through acrylic dome skylights. They consist of pre-formed heavy gauge galvanized welded wire mesh, two extruded aluminum rails with a 3M VHB tape and stainless steel retaining clips.

The skylight screen is hot dipped galvanized 3-in. x 4-in. welded wire mesh with a minimum transverse diameter of .195 in. Galvanization meets ASTM A123 specifications. The extruded aluminum rails are 6061-T6 mill finish. The ends of the pre-formed wire mesh are covered with a plastic extrusion. The aluminum rails have a 3M VHB pressure sensitive tape for securing rails to clamp frame. Stainless steel clips are attached to the rails after a pre-formed screen is installed. The entire assembly is tested by an independent testing laboratory to withstand a minimum impact of 300ft./lb.
