Two Smart Ways To Fight Dust Pollution

DF Ecology, the Italy based specialist manufacturer of a range of environmentally focussed products designed for rental firms and construction companies, have revealed their latest innovations, the Smart Dustfighter and the Mini Dustfighter.
The Smart Dustfighter is designed to provide outside workers with safe protection from many different kinds of airborne contaminates. It is ideally suited for contractors working with dust producing equipment, such as disc cutters, wall chasers and similar machines. The Smart Dustfighter produces a fine mist of water through a series of high-pressure jets; the mist is then propelled onto the site by a powerful fan, rendering the area free from unhealthy and hazardous material. DF Ecology’s research suggests that the Smart Dustfighter will become an essential health and safety component with trades such as builders, landscapers, light demolition contractors and recycling agencies. Its sturdiness and robust design makes it ideal for the rental market. Similar in size to a mini cement mixer, the Smart Dustfighter operates from ordinary mains power, 230V 50 Hz 2.2KW, with an 110v version available for UK construction sites. The Smart Dustfighter delivers a maximum coverage of up to 13-metres through six nylon fan blades fitted to an aluminium hub connected to twelve stainless steel water nozzles. It consumes water from 3.6 to 5.8 litres per minute at 2.5 Bar via a quick-release ½” standard water hose connection and is fitted with wheels for easy transportation, whilst weighing in at just 77kg.
The Mini-Dustfighter has been developed to help give contractors safe protection from unpleasant odours and airborne contaminates whilst working indoors. The Mini-Dustfighter is a simple, portable product ideally suited for the rental industry and their clients who undertake shop fitting, refurbishment and light demolition contracts. The Mini-Dustfighter is ideally suited to protect worker s from inhaling unhealthy material whilst working with demolition tools, cutting machines, and when transporting waste products. The machine is also a handy tool when carrying out recycling processes and waste treatment. The Mini-Dustfighter operates from ordinary, 230 volt, mains power and delivers a maximum throw of up to 8-metre from its integral 70-litre water tank. It will run continuously for a useful 1 hour and 20 minutes and has an impressive coverage area of up to 83 sq metres. The control panel is fitted with flexible settings, enabling the operator to finely adjust the Mini-Dustfighter to suit their individual applications. For example, when it is set into the low position, it will render a throw of 5-metres and a running time of nearly five and a half hours on a single tank of water, with a coverage area 33 sq metres. In order to accurately aim the water the spray head can be tilted up 25° and down by 15°.The Mini-Dustfighter weighs just 70kg and it is fitted with wheels for easy transportation. A fully extended Mini-Dustfighter reaches 2150mm in height and when lowered the unit measures only 710 x 600 x 1230mm.
“We produced both of these new Dustfighters following requests from site workers that needed to combat dust pollution in a concentrated area when working inside and outdoors,” explained, DF Ecology’s Alessandro Rossi. “We believe that our range of Dustfighters will become an essential items for contractors who need to maintain a healthy atmosphere when cutting slabs, block paving, bricks or carrying out projects that involves demolition,” added Alessandro.
