The Detector safety light curtains were developed to prevent injury from machine hazards with an invisible curtain of infrared light. These curtains have one universal control box with built-in capabilities that meet all requirements. Two pairs of any size heads can share the same control box, and the electronics are compatible with all types of machine controls. Any intrusion into this curtain of light signals the machine to stop, however operation is not affected by smoke, dirt, oil, or ambient light, including weld flash and strobe lights.
These curtains have blanking windows, which disable one or more light beams in order to allow fixed objects such as conveyors or work tables to remain in the light field. The redundant design and self-checking circuitry are said to ensure that no single failure can ever cause an unsafe condition. This series of curtains includes both the two-box and slimline three-box systems for scanning heights ranging from 6 to 72 in.
