3M Quest Technologies Introduces New Series Of Integrating Sound Level Meters

Source: 3M Detection Solutions

3M Sound Examiner SE-400 Series Sound Level Meters from Quest Technologies measure noise levels in highly variable environments. 3M Detection Management Software DMS is shipped free of charge with SE-400 series sound level meters through June 30, 2012.

Quest Technologies, a 3M company, is pleased to introduce the 3M Sound Examiner SE-400 Series sound level meters. These advanced instruments compute the average sound pressure level (LEQ/LAVG) over the run time, in addition to measuring maximum, minimum and peak levels. The Sound Examiner is available in two models: the SE-401, a Class/Type 1 sound level meter that offers remote capability using a removable preamp, and the SE-402, a Class/Type 2 sound level measurement.

Both Class/Type 1 and Class/Type 2 meters are available in kits that include calibrators. The NEW 3MAcoustiCal AC-300 calibrator replaces the QC-20 for calibration of Class/Type 1 microphones. Purchase of the SE-401-AC3 Sound Examiner Kit will include the AC-300 calibrator. The SE-402-10 Sound Examiner Kit includes a Class/Type 2 microphone and the QC-10 calibrator.

DMS Supports 3M Sound Examiner SE-400 Series
The Sound Examiner uses the NEW 3MDetection Management Software DMS. DMS is the next generation of 3M Quest instrumentation software, and is intended to replace 3M QuestSuite Professional-II (QSPII) for use in managing and analyzing information collected by 3M Quest data logging instruments. A DMS software CD will be shipped free of charge with SE-400 Series sound level meters and all new 3M Quest data logging instruments shipped through June 30, 2012. Optional Portable Printing Capability
Enforcement of local noise ordinances requires measuring noise levels and documenting results, particularly when a citation is issued. The easy-to-use SoundPatrol portable digital printing capability requires minimal training, so it can be easily deployed in the field by law enforcement personnel. Both rugged, high-quality devices meet applicable accuracy and performance requirements for sound level meters as defined by ANSI S1.4, ANSI S1.43, IEC 61672, IEC 61010, and IEC 61000-4.
