AIHA Announces Center For Safety And Health In Sustainability

Initiative is joint effort between ASSE, AIHA, and IOSH

Fairfax, VA - The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) is proud to announce the launch of the new Center for Safety and Health in Sustainability (CSHS). CSHS is focused on defining how safety and health professionals contribute to the long term sustainability of organizations. A collaborative effort between AIHA, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), ensures that CSHS will be a comprehensive resource in addressing global sustainability policies. These organizations represent approximately 80,000 safety and health professionals around the world.

As a founding member of the Center, and as an Organizational Stakeholder of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), AIHA is working on behalf of the occupational health and industrial hygiene profession to provide recommendations on health and safety performance indicators for the next version of the GRI Sustainability Reporting Framework. Additionally, CSHS will educate and advocate the importance of workplace health and safety in corporate governance and social responsibility.
