AIHA Recognizes AIHce 2007 Keynote Speakers
Fairfax, VA - Thousands of industrial hygienists and occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) professionals are expected to attend the 68th annual American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce), which will offer a lineup of high-profile keynote speakers addressing topics such as creative problem-solving and public health in the workplace and an interactive question and answer session. AIHce 2007 will be held June 2–7 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Steve Uzzell, Former National Geographic Photographer
Following the weekend educational program, Steven Uzzell, former National Geographic photographer, will officially commence the conference Monday morning on Monday, June 4, and discuss "Open Roads Open Minds: An Exploration of Creative Problem Solving." Uzzell inspires his audiences to make any venture an adventure. Attendees do not want to miss this unique presentation as award-winning photographer weaves his message using 185 striking photographs from 42 states and 17 countries.
Linda Rae Murray, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer Ambulatory and Community Health Network of Cook County
The Tuesday, June 5, general session introduces Linda Rae Murray, MD, MPH, chief medical officer of primary care and community health at the Ambulatory and Community Health Network of Cook County, Chicago, on "Public Health in the Workplace – Sparking Tradition With Invention." Murray will share her expertise and insight regarding the impact of social, economic, and political changes on worker health and safety. Murray has more than 30 years experience in occupational and environmental health. An "Ask the Expert" session immediately following the general session will allow attendees to address their concerns in depth.

The keynote address for Wednesday, June 6, will be different from years past. Dave Johnson, editor of Industrial Safety and Hygiene News (ISHN), will host an innovative new program, based on the ever popular television talk show format. Johnson's guests include Edwin G. Foulke Jr., assistant secretary of labor of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and John Howard, MD, director of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Dave will engage his guests in a provocative discussion that will focus on questions e-mailed by attendees in advance of AIHce through an interactive section of the AIHce website. After the program ends, an "Ask the Expert" session will take place, enabling participants to interact with the guests in a more intimate format.
