Butterball, LLC Huntsville Facility Achieves Five Million Hours Without A Lost-Time Injury

Huntsville, AR - The Butterball, LLC Huntsville location has achieved five million worker hours without a lost-time Injury. This accomplishment represents more than three years of outstanding safety performance by the facility's associates and further demonstrates the company's award-winning employee safety program.

"Reaching this milestone demonstrates Butterball's commitment to eliminating unsafe conditions and worker injuries throughout the company," said Brian Rodgers, corporate director of Safety and Risk Management. "As an industry leader in worker safety, Butterball enforces strict guidelines to ensure work environments are safe for all employees."

The turkey producer's Huntsville location consistently delivers safety performance that exceeds poultry industry standards as compiled by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. Adopting standards developed by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Voluntary Protection Program (OSHA VPP), Butterball implements a reputable safety program that has secured numerous accolades from national and local organizations.

Among these honors the Huntsville location has been named by OSHA as a VPP "Star Amongst Stars" facility, which certifies the facility maintains an incident rate of 50 percent or better than the industry average. The Huntsville facility has also received the Award of Honor by the American Meat Institute and Award of Distinction by the National Joint Poultry Safety and Health Council.
