Construction Association Of Michigan Continues Alliance With MIOSHA To Heighten Worker Safety

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) and Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) recently renewed a formal alliance to protect the safety and health of Michigan’s construction workers through increased communication, collaboration, awareness, and education and training opportunities. MIOSHA is part of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

CAM first signed an alliance with MIOSHA in 2005, renewing today for its third time.

"We’re pleased to continue a long-standing alliance with CAM to keep construction workers safe and healthy on the job in Michigan," said MIOSHA Director Martha Yoder. " This type of collaboration between workers, industry and government to ensure worker protection on construction projects has the potential to save lives.”

Signing partners included: Yoder, CAM President Kevin Koehler, CAM Director of Education and Safety Services Jason Griffin, CAM Chairman of the Board Larry Brinker, Jr., and MIOSHA Consultation Education and Training Division Director Nella Davis-Ray.

“We are honored to sign our third consecutive alliance with MIOSHA, in an effort to keep Michigan construction workers safe and healthy,” said Koehler. “Safety is paramount to CAM, our contractors, our industry and most importantly, our workers. Working closely with MIOSHA allows us to be leaders in this effort.”

MIOSHA alliances enable organizations committed to workplace safety and health to collaborate with MIOSHA to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. Alliances are open to all groups, including trade or professional associations, businesses, labor organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies.

The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM) is the oldest and largest construction association in North America. Based in Bloomfield Hills, CAM is a not-for-profit organization supported by annual dues and service fees.
