Topic 1: Who's Responsible for Safety?

• Health and safety responsibilities of employers
• Health and safety responsibilities of employees
• The roles and responsibilities of OSHA in the construction workplace
• The importance of adherence to OSHA regulations and company/site safe work practices
• The rights of the employee to refuse doing unsafe work

Topic 2: Training and Qualifications
Concepts taught in this topic include:

• Obligation of employers to make sure that workers are trained and qualified do specific tasks
• Obligation of employers to make sure that workers are trained to recognize and identify workplace hazards
• Workers should not to attempt to perform tasks unless they have been properly trained and qualified
• Workers that are being trained and not yet qualified may work under the direct supervision of someone who is qualified
