Data Collection System

This is a "subcompact" video data collection system, housed in a "carry-on" luggage case, with wheels and a telescoping handle, which offers functionality in a very easily portable package. There are external video and audio outputs to support the use of larger monitors, if available. The Li'l Lab is best suited for applications where low-cost and/or extreme portability are the primary concerns, but where the user nonetheless needs all the basic components for collecting video data concurrently from a test participant and a product under evaluation. The system includes the following components:

•A compact video camera
•800 x 600 scan converter
•A 2-input video mixer to create picture-in-a-picture composites of the images from the camera and scan converter
•An analog video tape recorder with pop-up color LCD video monitor to display the image being recorded; a digital video recorder is an option
•A lavaliere microphone to record audio from the test environment
