INTRODUCTION:
Derived Channel multiplex is a UL Listed Multiplex Alarm Transmission Network. The Derived Channel multiplex Network utilizes state-of-the-art switching technology providing continuous, comprehensive supervision of your alarm systems. While Derived Channel multiplex uses phone lines as its communication path, it does not rely on dial tone and is completely independent from normal use of the telephone service. This allows your customer to continue uninterrupted telephone usage at all times including times of emergency.

This method of alarm transport offers Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Listings for Grade AA Burglary, Police Connect, NFPA 72 Central Station, and Remote Station Service approval for fire communications. Derived Channel alarm communications for Remote Station and Central Station applications can be made over a single telco wire pair which would eliminate the need for multiple dedicated lines.

DESCRIPTION:
The Derived Channel Interface option provides firmware for the KELTRON DMP703/DMP704 receiver coupled with a Dual Channel Isolated Serial I/O Card. This I/O Card interfaces directly with modems which communicate directly with the Derived Channel Message Switch and corresponding Scanners located at the telco central office or proprietary switch location. Having all the listings referenced below, the DMP703/DMP704 provides an integral trouble-free touch screen CRT display with user friendly menus to monitor Subscriber Terminal Unit (STU) events. Each event is annunciated with a field programmable message display and printout and multiple event-specific outputs can be programmed as well. The DMP703/DMP704 can be used to send commands through the Message Switch to the STU for remote control applications.

A single DMP703/DMP704 can simultaneously accommodate multiple alarm transport technologies including Derived Channel, Direct Connects, Coded/McCullough Loop, Digital Alarm Communicators, Multiplex and Radio Networks. A computer automation port is available for Central Station Applications.
