ENSR Receives National Safety Council Award
Westford, MA - ENSR has received the Occupational Excellence Award from the National Safety Council (NSC) for 2006. ENSR, part of AECOM, is a leading global environmental services provider. The NSC is a nonprofit, nongovernmental public-service organization dedicated to protecting life and promoting health through the prevention of injuries in the workplace and the community.
ENSR has now been awarded this distinction in consecutive years, having earned the NSC's Perfect Safety Record Award in 2005, which recognizes companies, units and/or facilities that have completed a period of at least twelve consecutive months without incurring an occupational injury or illness that resulted in days away from work or death.
The Occupational Excellence Award honors companies that show a strong commitment to employee health and safety. Applicants for the award must have an injury and illness rate equal to, or less than 50% of the Bureau of Labor Statistics rate for comparable companies, as well as no fatalities during the calendar year.
"Employee health and safety is a top operational priority for our company, and we are proud to have received multiple health and safety awards from clients and industry organizations" said James Colbert, ENSR's Global Director of Health and Safety. "Through comprehensive hazard assessment, planning, and employee training, we make health and safety integral to the delivery of services and project work for our clients."
