In 1999, FLS completed the acquisition of a fabrication and construction company to complete our turnkey package. This allows us to provide a complete package of fall protection services to our customers. Offering site assessment, engineering and design, in-house fabrication, installation, system certification and comprehensive training, FLS is the only TRUE TURNKEY provider of innovative fall protection solutions.
While every fall arrest system application is unique and has its own characteristics, our comprehensive range of products meets most requirements. However, for those infrequent situations which fall outside the range of our existing product lines, FLS offers a custom design service which addresses the demands imposed by unusual structures or extreme conditions and ensures that worker safety @height can be protected in any situation. FLS will work with you to help define the most suitable fall arrest solution for your needs.
Our awareness of fabrication and construction techniques and material, in addition to our specialized knowledge of fall arrest systems, ideally positions us to contribute ideas from the earliest design and planning stages. Once the system plans have been approved, if appropriate we can then produce full specification prototypes for testing at our research and development facilities. One of our experienced project engineers will oversee every aspect of the project to ensure that the system meets all the technical and safety criteria and is delivered on schedule ready for installation by our experienced crews.
Our ability to interact effectively with customers to produce tailored solutions is evidenced by the special partnerships that we enjoy. For major aircraft maintenance facilities we have developed the Flextrac, a unique mobile fall arrest system for aircraft maintenance on the flightline. Features of this system include mobility and the ability to provide fall protection over a variety of aircraft while parked on the flightline away from aircraft hangers or other significant structures. Another example is our partnership with a major airline to provide turnkey fall arrest systems in all of their aircraft maintenance hangers worldwide, working around their aircraft schedules so as not to disrupt their flight operations. Similarly we liaise closely with architect and engineering firms to prepare specifications for systems to be installed on new buildings thereby reducing the overall cost of installation.
We have also created systems for use in ultra harsh environments such as chlorine environments, potash mines and on offshore oil rigs. Our knowledge of materials allows us to modify the systems' critical components with enhanced material to ensure durability in the harshest of conditions.
