HP6009 Heavy-Duty Hinge-Operated Safety Interlock Switch

FREMONT, CA -- Scientific Technologies Inc. has introduced the HP6009, a new CE rated and BG certified Heavy-Duty Hinge-Operated Safety Interlock Switch designed for long life, even with excessive use.

With die-cast alloy housing and a stainless steel actuator designed to provide a minimum of 10 million actuations, this hinge-operated switch is ideal for heavy-duty safety interlock functions. The HP6009 provides a tamper-resistant switch that is free of misalignment problems, making it an ideal safety interlock solution for swinging guard door applications.

The HP6009 is ideal for applications with vibrating guard doors. The adjustable cam mechanism on this switch limits guard door opening from 5° to 11° before safety contacts are opened, eliminating false actuation due to guard door vibration. The NEMA 4 enclosure enables the HP6009 to withstand water washdown cleaning.

The HP6009 is easy to install, with two actuator shaft options. The actuator shaft is available pre-bored, allowing an existing hinge pin to be used as the mounting point. A solid actuator shaft is also available, and can be used as the hinge pin on certain guards.
