Increase Electrical Safety In Mines With Bender's A-ISOMETER IR420 Series Insulation Monitors

Ground fault monitoring is paramount to ensuring electrical safety for mine workers. Bender Inc., a leading manufacturer of ground fault protection equipment for the mining industry, provides A-ISOMETER IR420 Series isolation monitors to boost safety of large AC-powered mining machines.

The A-ISOMETER IR420 series is designed to monitor the insulation resistance of ungrounded AC systems up to 300 V. The response range is steplessly adjustable from 1 kO to 200 kO, and values are displayed on a seven-segment LCD. A large range of supply voltages can be applied to the unit. By connecting an external supply voltage, it also allows de-energized systems to be monitored.

Other features of the A-ISOMETER IR420 include:

  • Internal and external test/reset buttons
  • Self-monitoring with automatic alarm message
  • Digital alarms with two separate alarm relays
  • Connection monitoring system
  • Preset function with automatic assignment of basic parameters
  • Operates using "superimposed DC voltage" measuring principle.

The A-ISOMETER IR420 also can be used in smaller mining applications such as lighting systems and mobile generators.
