With the growing concern over indoor air quality and sick building syndrome, there has been an increasing interest in bioaerosols, particularly fungi. Fungi are capable of degrading a number of substrates, as well as causing disease and allergies. With these concerns in mind, proper understanding of the organisms involved, their ecology and physiology, sampling techniques and data interpretation are necessary to understand the implications of fungi in indoor environments.

Combining a 14 year history of offering high quality industrial hygiene services with our clients' demand for quality microbiological lab services, Forensic Analytical has developed a special service offering for professionals working with indoor air quality issues.

Dr. Sharon Harney, an environmental mycologist, leads the microbiological laboratory team with over 10 years of experience. The laboratory is capable of providing detailed reports to a species level for many fungi (on a wide variety of bioaerosols).

The laboratory can also provide consultation to make your indoor air quality project as effective as it can be, whether it be an initial survey, on-going monitoring, or mitigation. The microbiological laboratory staff can assist in:

  • developing a proper and effective sampling strategy
