New Features Enhance MSDS Management System; GHS And WHMIS Compliant

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MSDSonline (, a leading provider of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) compliance solutions, announced today it made additional enhancements to its MSDS management system to further enrich Global Harmonized System (GHS) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) compliance capabilities. In addition, the development adds personal protection equipment (PPE) pictograms to help companies quickly and easily identify proper PPE, ensuring employee safety.

MSDSonline added these features in anticipation of OSHA's adoption of GHS, which solidifies MSDSonline's commitment to improving employee safety and streamlining compliance on a global stage. Clients can expect that MSDSonline is at the forefront of understanding EH&S compliance and related issues and integrating it into its core offering.

"We noticed an increased amount of inquiries from our clients regarding GHS and its impact on their business. In response to this, we've added the new features to meet GHS and WHMIS requirements, as well as the addition of the PPE pictograms," said Glenn Trout, president of MSDSonline. "MSDSonline sees OSHA's recommended adoption of GHS as a step in the right direction and as always we are committed to being ahead of the curve."

Clients utilizing the MSDSonline system can easily customize and print OSHA, GHS and WHMIS compliant labels. The system flags chemicals in its database and assigns the appropriate hazard classifications. Clients can then print labels with the appropriate pictograms to make clear what precautions the chemical requires. These pictograms enable handlers of the chemicals to quickly and easily identify hazards and take precautions to mitigate potential accidents.
