New probe Type 25 from Wandel & Goltermann

The new probe Type 25 from Wandel & Goltermann's Safety Test Solutions department makes it easier to take wide-band measurements of high frequency fields in areas where radio, television, telecommunications and mobile telephone equipment is used. This new probe considerably extends the areas in which the EMR-200 and EMR-300 measuring devices can be applied.

In practice the frequencies of the signals are often not recognized or several services may be received in one location, for example by antenna equipment. The Type 25 probe operates according to the shaped probe principle, i.e. it evaluates all incoming signals according to their frequency-dependent limit values. The load that occurs is shown as a percentage of the limit value. This means that measurements which conform to standards can be carried out even in unfamiliar multi- frequency environments. This makes the probe much easier to use and allows work safety regulations to be applied on the basis of the limit values.

The new probe operates in the frequency range between 300 kHz and 18 GHz, which is the frequency range of all communications equipment. It measures the effective values, "true RMS", up to 1.000% of the limit value and has a high dynamic capability. This easy-to-use probe makes it possible, to obtain exact measurement results over a large frequency range.
