The NFDS16 is a cut level 5* sleeve knitted from Dyneema® and glass fiber. It blends comfort with performance in a way that no other sleeve can.
For years, industries have tried various products to protect the arms of their workers from cuts and abrasions. Some have worked better than others, but all have had their limitations. Leather is hot and bulky and can't be laundered. Aramids are hot and itchy and don't launder well. Synthetic materials are more comfortable but have typically been rather heavy.
The new NFDS16 from North offers a state-of-the-art solution to the old problems.Performance is assured through the use of Dyneema and glass fiber, which together (weight for weight) outperform other sleeve materials in cut and abrasion resistance.Dyneema is also famously cool to the touch and Dyneema yarns can be knitted finer to produce a sleeve that is low on bulk and simply more readily accepted by the wearer. This means workers will actually like wearing it!
The sleeve's gray color hides dirt,making it a practical choice for many tough and dirty applications, but it is also launderable and dry cleanable without noticeable deterioration in performance.
The NFDS16 C5 Dyneema Sleeve is perfect for applications where workers are involved in material handling and assembly work involving sharp objects like sheet metal, metal shavings, glass and metal parts.
