Ohio Firm Opts for Prognos Software
The Health Plan, a regional HMO located in St. Clairsville, OH, recently purchased Prognos-MCO software by PerDatum, Inc.. The Health Plan made the switch to Prognos from software they were using from a Florida-based software company.
Prognos-MCO is a Windows-based application that provides capabilities for incident reporting, case management, treatment planning, fee bill processing, check writing, statistical analysis and EDI. Additional advantages are offered by a Prognos security module, which provides capabilities to configure custom user accounts for internal staff, as well as for clients requesting direct access to their data.
"Our company is extremely impressed with the PROGNOS-MCO software because it is so specific to our administrative needs," says Eric Petho, manager of workers' compensation services for The Health Plan.
Petho believes the new software will help his firm because of its reporting and performance tracking capabilities. The tracking capabilities of the software allow The Health Plan to track their own Degree of Disability Management (DoDM) progress before the Bureau of Workers' Compensation's quarterly report comes out. DoDM uses benchmarks that allow case managers to assess their performance against accepted standards. Prognos lets this occur online.
The Health Plan specializes in fully insured commercial group and individual HMO programs, self-insured administrative services, managed workers' compensation, medicare + choice, and medicaid products.
