PureSafety And ASHI Partner To Provide A "Blended Learning" Training Approach
Nashville, TN PureSafety, a provider of online safety training and risk management solutions, has announced a partnership with the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), an association of professional safety and health educators.
Under the partnership, PureSafety will provide its customers with access to online versions of four of ASHI's most popular courses:
- Basic First Aid, for people who are occupationally required or desire to have basic first aid knowledge and skills to enable them to respond to injuries and sudden illness in adults and children.
- CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace, for laypeople who are occupationally required or desire to have CPR knowledge and skills using AEDs.
- CPR PRO for the Professional Rescuer, for health care providers, first responders and professional rescuers in and outside the hospital or those needing professional level basic life support training as an occupational requirement.
- Bloodborne Pathogens, for people who have reasonable anticipation of contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials in the performance of designated job duties and compliance with the training requirements of OSHA's bloodborne pathogens standard.
With the PureSafety/ASHI "blended learning" approach, students first take the online course to learn the core curriculum and required knowledge components of the particular subject along with an assessment. They then meet at a later date with the ASHI instructor for the hands-on portion. The online courses can be taken anytime, anywhere, and from any Internet-connected computer.
"We are excited about our new relationship with ASHI and the ability to offer certification training for our customers," stated Ron A. Kirsch, Ph.D., Vice President of Business Development for PureSafety. "Our online courses provide the perfect complement to ASHI's instructor-led skills training. When students arrive for the hands-on instruction, they already understand the knowledge component, so they spend less time in the classroom. And with the addition of the ASHI hands-on instruction, PureSafety customers can be fully certified."
ASHI General Manager Frank Swiger added, "By combining hands-on classroom instruction with online training, your customers will be able to save a substantial amount of time every week. Because students arrive with a good understanding of the subject matter, the hands-on portion goes quicker and smoother. Thus, we are able to provide this vital life-saving training to more people in more classes each week."
