The rate of U.S. Hispanic employment in the construction industry has grown significantly in recent years. According to the Pew Hispanic Center, in 2006 alone, two-thirds of all new construction jobs were filled by workers of Hispanic descent, many of whom speak Spanish as a first language or are bilingual.
