Rabintex Launches BREEZE - A New Breathing Bullet-Proof Vest
Breeze Active Air Circulation System (patent pending) blows fresh air into the inner layer of the ballistic vest (front and rear). The air evaporates the sweat and reduces body temperature of the vest wearer.
Mr. Shachar Bernhard, the company's International Marketing Manager says: "With this new A/C system, Rabintex has set a new standard of comfort in the personal protection industry."
The cornerstone of this new product lies in the natural human cooling system, based on the production of sweat for vaporization. The bullet-proof vest presents an obstacle to the physiological cooling process, preventing the body from cooling itself. As a result, body temperature rises, affecting the natural body functions -- both physically and mentally.
Breeze provides circulation of fresh air between the vest and the clothing, replacing the existing humid saturated air, and bouncing the natural cooling system to proper functioning.
After two years of development, Breeze was tested at the Heller Institute of Medical Research -- Tel Aviv University -- in February 2004. Testees were asked to march for 180 minutes in a room with rough climate conditions (30 Degrees Celsius / 86 Degrees Fahrenheit and 50% humidity), while connected to several gauges. When using the air-circulated vest, results proved a considerable reduction in heart rate (10%), body temperature (reduction of 0.9 Degrees Celsius), and decreased sweating while providing better feeling.
Mr. Yoav Kapah, the company's R&D Director says: "Breeze is a breakthrough in terms of comfort and effectiveness. After a long development stage, we have managed to maintain superb protection level yet creating a genuine 'no-vest' feeling -- and the test results show it. Breeze meets all the safety standards and can easily be added to most common bullet-proof vests."
Breeze runs on common AA batteries, which enables quick and cheap replacement. Weighing less than 400 grams (0.8 pound), the new system offers approximately 10 hours of power in 2 modes.
