The PosiCheck³ Computerized SCBA Tester automatically determines the operational fitness of the SCBA by means of a series of dynamic tests and functional checks. It quantitatively determines whether the performance of a unit meets NIOSH and NFPA requirements. The system attaches to a fully-assembled SCBA at the test head and allows the operator to choose the test conducted. The "Quick Test" performance testing cycle consumes less than 1.0% of the air supply. Test results can be used to print reports and graphs of testing results, or stored in the form of easily searched or retrieved database files. Tests run include:

•Exhalation check-valve opening pressure
•Static mask-pressure
•Breathing resistance at standard (40 LPM) work-rate
•Breathing resistance at maximum (100 LPM) work-rate
•Bypass flow-rate
•Pressure gauge accuracy
•Low pressure alarm activation
•Visual Inspection
•Optional medium pressure transducer to dynamically test first stage regulator performance
•Mask leak check
•Exhalation check-valve opening pressure
