Video Spec is a multimedia software system that allows you to use video, image and audio files to quickly and easily create multimedia training. Video Spec can simultaneously display video, images, text and audio in a self paced paradigm, with the ability to dynamically change languages. There are standalone and network versions.

The Video Spec System consists of a Drag and Drop Author program that lets a user build a Video Spec without programming, and an easy-to-use Viewer that displays released Video Specs. In Author, pre-defined page types are selected from a sidebar and dropped with automatic outline numbering into a flow line. Video, image and audio files are then selected for use in each page. Text can be typed or pasted in from other documents. The Video Spec paradigm lends itself to the use of concise video clips simplifying video editing and production. Content can be loaded for multiple languages in each document.

In Viewer, users can view Video Spec pages sequentially, or directly select sections, sub-sections or individual steps from pulldown menus. Videos are played by clicking on the image or video controls. The stand alone version can view Video Specs from a hard drive or CD-ROM. The network and Intranet versions use a streaming video server. Usage is self paced, capable of communicating complex actions quickly and clearly.

Applications for Video Spec include just-in-time training, performance support, process instructions, and equipment maintenance procedures.

Video Spec can be used with the integrated FRAX Trax tracking and reporting system. FRAX Trax can produce ISO 9000 compliance reports and comes with a report writer for custom reports.
