The Oxford Princeton Programme Offers Innovative, Bestseller Courses To Canadian Energy Sector
Princeton, NJ In its commitment to offer the most comprehensive curriculum catering to the Canadian energy, commodities and derivatives marketplace, The Oxford Princeton Programme is holding three of its most innovative and best-selling courses in Calgary, AB this November 2006:
Gas Pipeline Economics and Engineering Crucial Factors to Successful Pipeline Projects (November 7 – 10) at The Westin Calgary; as well as Energy Risk Management (November 28 - 29) and Fundamentals of Energy Basis Training (November 30th), both at The Calgary TELUS Convention Center.
"We are committed to offering Calgary-based courses to address the needs of our Canadian customers," says Clara Lippert, president and CEO of The Oxford Princeton Programme, Inc. "The three slated for the remainder of 2006 are among our most attended offerings and are representative of our cutting-edge curriculum."
Gas Pipeline Economics and Engineering Crucial Factors to Successful Pipeline Projects
This four-day course brings together key engineering and economic factors essential to the success of pipeline projects and provides a detailed analysis of the cost structure of pipelines and the inter-relations between all the factors.
Through a combination of lecture, case studies and simulation, delegates will learn: to appreciate the significance of engineering factors in the economics of pipeline projects, understand the cost structure of pipeline projects, how to make a basic cost estimate for a pipeline project, how to calculate the unit cost of capacity and therefore identify the optimum capacity configuration for a project, how transportation tariffs are calculated, and the difficulties in determining reasonable rates of return.
This course is ideal for, though not limited to, engineers, planners, and project managers involved in the oil and gas industries, gas utility personnel involved in the planning and operation of pipeline systems, government regulatory staff, managers and staff in public sector ministries as well as departments and agencies responsible for energy sector planning.
Energy Risk Management
Understanding and identifying how to limit price risk exposure is a complex task. This two-day course will provide attendees with a forum to maximize hedging efficiencies and limit price risk exposure. Delegates will build a portfolio of industry techniques for managing price risk in today's volatile energy markets.
This is ideal for those who are already familiar with futures and options but want a more in-depth understanding of hedging and the tools available. It uses four unique case studies developed by the industry's leading risk managers requiring the delegate to apply hedging skills to complex scenarios. It will deal with many different energy commodities, including oil and gas.
Fundamentals of Energy Basis Trading
After learning all there is to know about exchange traded futures and options, traders are always faced with a complex dilemma Basis. The 'B' word can make or break a successful hedging or trading program. This course includes timely 'real world' examples and simulation to reinforce the application of basis trading concepts and tools. After completion, delegates will have a strong working knowledge of basis trading.
Class delegates include everyone from trade support staff all the way up to senior management anyone who needs to learn how to analyze and take advantage of proper basis risk/opportunity analysis.
