Tractor Supply Announces Sponsorship Of National Farm Safety Day Program

Brentwood, TN - Tractor Supply Company has become a major sponsor of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation's Safety Day education program.

The Foundation's mission is to help protect children in rural communities by holding Safety Day events, designed to teach children and young adults about things such as farm equipment safety. More recently, topics such as healthy eating and drug education have been added.

"Most of our customers live in rural areas, and whether they live on a farm or not, their children are likely to come in contact with things like tractors, livestock, and ATVs," said Blake Fohl, Tractor Supply's Senior Vice President, marketing. "This program is a great one for us to be involved with because it lets our customers know we really care about the communities where we do business."

Each year, more than 22,000 children who visit, live or work on farms are injured. Since its beginning in 1995, the Safety Day program has reached more than half a million participants and volunteer leaders.

Tractor Supply's contribution will be used primarily to produce a video version of a typical Safety Day program. RFD-TV, a cable and satellite-based network that reaches approximately 31 million homes primarily in rural areas, has agreed to air the video as a public service. In addition, a portion of the sponsorship will be used to fund Safety Day events in communities where Tractor Supply is opening new stores.

Tractor Supply Company, listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange as TSCO, operates more than 764 stores in 43 states. Tractor Supply Company stores are focused on supplying the lifestyle needs of recreational farmers and ranchers. The company also serves the maintenance needs of those who enjoy the rural lifestyle, as well as tradesmen and small businesses. Tractor Supply Company stores are located in the outlying towns in major metropolitan markets and in rural communities.
