New "Truck Quit Flag" from William Frick & Company Alerts Passers By Of Stranded Workers In Malfunctioned Bucket Trucks

The highly visible safety flag helps linesmen trapped in aerial lofts quickly receive help and avoid dangerous situations while stranded.
Libertyville, IL (PRWEB) - As a part of its safety initiative, William Frick & Company is introducing the “Truck Quit Flag”, which can be seen at a distance in the sunlight and features reflective strips for dusk or night-time.
Before this new product, linesmen faced a challenge any time their bucket trucks malfunctioned during a job. When a worker is trapped in an aerial lift 20 feet above the ground, it is often times difficult to catch the attention of passing cars or, even more dangerous, attempt to climb down the extended arm of the truck.
As a result, the "Truck Quit Flag" can be implemented across all industries using bucket trucks, including forestry, landscaping, electric utility, telecom, lighting and sign maintenance, transmission construction and maintenance as well as cranes and booms.
According to the 2008 Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries, there were 29.8 deaths per 100,000 linesmen with 35 fatalities total in that year alone. To prevent future incidents, an electric utility safety engineer partnered with William Frick & Company to design the safety flag.
“At William Frick & Company, we are dedicated to helping companies keep their employees safe in all circumstances,” Vice President Evie Bennett said. “With the new ‘Truck Quit Flag’, we can help linesmen quickly receive the help they need, so they can go home safely.”
The flag is intended to be displayed when workers experience glitches operating their trucks from dangerous heights and cannot safely move down to ground level without outside assistance.
In addition, this product uses UV stable inks and vinyl material, so it is designed to last decades and can be tightly wrapped to not take up extra space.
“As with all of the products we offer at William Frick & Company, this flag can be customized to meet the needs of any customer,” Bennett said. “We can print this product in different colors, and we have the capability to engineer any specialized message.”
